The Belvoir estate in Leicestershire has a significant exposure to fossil fuel and carbon markets.

Based on a recent audit undertaken by Susenco, the estate spends 10% of its annual income on direct energy use in buildings, vehicles and equipment, and indirect energy use, through nitrogen fertilizer.

The impact of Feed-In Tariffs and Renewable Heat Incentives

Solutions Director Mark Hinnells has welcomed Government annoucements on Feed-In Tariffs and Renewable Heat Incentives.

"For Belvoir, the new incentives mean Internal Rates of return for wind projects of 15-25%. The Renewable Heat Incentive means that, compared to a mixture of oil and electric heating, a biomass boiler has an Internal Rate of Return of around 40%.

Susenco support 2degrees Commercial Real Estate Work

Susenco has been commissioned by 2degrees to conduct research into the main sustainability issues faced by the real-estate industry in the UK

Identifying issues across a number of key players, such as landlords, large tenants, developers and property agents. From this, Susenco will draw up a content strategy for Commercial Real Estate working group. Solutions Director Dr Mark Hinnells, commented that “This shows we are seen as being able to develop a real understanding of customer needs in a rapidly changing marketplace.”
